Love Food, Hate Waste Scotland has teamed up with Lidl GB's over 100 Scottish stores to launch “Great Taste, No Waste”.
This exciting new initiative offers a month’s worth of shopping lists, meal planners and tasty recipes that minimise food waste and feed a family of four - all for £40 a week. The lists show that everyone can eat well, save money and help fight climate change.
List making and meal planning can help reduce wasted food at home
Many more people are now planning their weekly shop, which means they’re buying only what they need and wasting less food. All this is good news for the planet as wasted food is a major contributor to climate change.
However, a YouGov poll from Zero Waste Scotland recently revealed that 1.8 million Scots still don’t plan their shopping and meals - so many of us could save money, save food and save all the resources that went into growing, transporting and packaging that food.
Great Taste, No Waste shows everyone how planning, storing and cooking food a little differently can save money. It also offers families a way to enjoy great meals and know that they’re doing the right thing for the environment.

The big easy shop
Scotland has embraced the weekly shop and almost two-thirds of us say that we shop less frequently now than before the pandemic. But many of us are also now stressed by the whole shopping experience.
The Great Taste, No Waste shop makes it easy to buy, store, cook and enjoy good food.
